Liability Insurance Coverage
Clients and injured parties should know, and have a right to know, how much liability coverage is available in a claim. In other words: How much insurance money is there, and is it adequate to cover a client’s damages? There are several places to look for different policies of insurance that might provide coverage, some of which may lie hidden on first glance. Effective pursuit, negotiation, and trial on any serious injury case cannot take place without first possessing this piece of the puzzle. Potential places to look include: the other driver’s insurance policy, policies covering an employer, umbrella policies covering either the driver or his employer, and any uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, not to mention any potential worker’s compensation coverage. One of the steps in my representation is to secure this information for my client.
